Mrs. Johnna C. Atkins of Larue County was born on Thursday, September 12, 1963 in San Diego, California to James Jones and DonNeva (Funk) Travis. She departed this life on Sunday, July 17, 2016 at the Taylor Regional Hospital after an extended illness. Her loving husband was at her side. Mrs. Atkins was a veteran of the United States Army and served her country honorably through retirement. She enjoyed spending leisurely evenings on her iPad, talking with her grandkids, and dreaming about shoes, all while drinking coffee and watching the animals play.

   She leaves to cherish her memory:

Five children: Kiersten Angely of Virginia, Johnathan Schoenhals and wife Jessica of Texas, Kathryn Lopez of Buffalo, Kimberley Atkins, also of Buffalo, Kentucky, and Anthony Atkins of Idaho,

Her parents: James Jones of Oregon, and DonNeva Travis of Texas,

Three sisters: Jodeen Jones of Texas, Jimalee Custer of Washington, and Jaylene Jones of Texas,

Nine grandchildren, including: Trapper Schoenhals, Treagan Schoenhals, Tracker Schoenhals, Grady Schoenhals, Bentley Horton, and Mariella Lopez,

And a host of extended family and friends.

   Cremation rites were accorded Mrs. Atkins by the L.R. Petty Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Campbellsville. A memorial service with full military honors will be conducted on August 6, 2016 at 10:00AM CST at the Shattuck Cemetery in Shattuck, Oklahoma under the care and direction of the Good Samaritan Funeral Service, 302 S.
