Walter Michael Reisinger

   Mr. Walter Michael “MIK” Reisinger of the Roley community passed from this life on Thursday, February 20, 2020 at his home after an extended illness. Son of the late Melvin and Jene (Bennett) Reisinger, he was born on July 13, 1944, and was 75 years, 7 months, and 7 days of age at the time of his passing. He had made a profession of faith in Christ and was of the Baptist faith. As a young man, he joined the United States Navy, and was a veteran of the Vietnam War. He earned his living in the construction industry; he travelled extensively supporting his family and passing his abundant knowledge and work ethic on to his children. His gruff exterior belied a gentle giant that was a favorite grandfather, friend, and confidant to many.

   He leaves to carry his legacy:

   His wife: Denise (Bell) Reisinger,

   Six children: Sara Spangler, Tammy Spangler, William Devine, Monty Spangler and wife Jessica, John Reisinger and wife Frankie, and Nicole Bell and husband Robert,

   Three siblings: Monty Reisinger and wife Nancy of Salem, Indiana, Gary Reisinger and wife Debbie of Jeffersonville, Indiana, and Betty Jo Hensley and husband John of Bardstown,

   Twelve grandchildren: Danny Hanson, Jessica Hiatt, Ashley Wright and husband Andy, Joey Hiatt, Ian Hiatt, Hannah Winter and husband Eric, Danielle Spangler, Marilyn Spangler, Justin Richerson, Shallan Philpott, Madison Philpott, and Sydney Reisinger,

   A close uncle: Charles “Spider” Reisinger,

   Eight great-grandchildren,

   And a host of other family and friends.

   He was also preceded in death by a daughter, Jennifer Reisinger. 

   There will be a funeral service to honor the life of Mr. Reisinger on Monday, February 24, 2020 at 1:00 PM EST (12:00 PM CST) in the chapel of the L.R. Petty Funeral Home, 1765 New Columbia Rd, Campbellsville, KY. Bro. Steve Orr will be officiating. Interment will follow in the Lebanon National Cemetery. Full military honors will be conducted by the Marion County Veterans Honor Guard.

   The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday, Feb. 23, from 5:00-8:00 PM EST (4:00-7:00 PM CST).
