Mrs. Shirley Jean Young of Campbellsville, daughter of the late Jessie Wallace and Geneva (Payton) Whitehouse, passed from this life on Monday, April 27, 2020 at her home. Born in Louisville on April 2, 1940. She was 80 years and 25 days of age. Mrs. Young had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of Beulahland Community Church. She enjoyed collecting dolls and horse trinkets, and loved to find bargains at yard sales.
She leaves to cherish her memory:
Her lifelong companion: Michael Cox of Campbellsville,
Two daughters: Beverly Brown and husband Jerry of Columbia, and Phyllis King of Campbellsville,
Two sons: James Phillip Cook, II of Campbellsville, and Mike Powell and wife Lori of Carthage, Missouri,
Three step daughters:Linda Whitlock and husband Jesse of Casey County, Michelle Jones of Louisville, and Dorothy Francene Taylor of Adair County,
Nine grandchildren,
Eighteen great-grandchildren,
Eleven step grandchildren,
One step great-grandchild,
One brother: Billy Whitehouse and wife Annie of Campbellsville,
And a host of other family and friends.
Mrs. Young had requested cremation. All services were performed privately.
