Shirley A. Rucker, of Campbellsville, the daughter of the late Finley and Hazel (Botner) Isaacs, was born November 26, 1936 in Vincent, KY (Owsley County) and departed this life on Friday, January 6, 2023 in Covington. She was 86 years of age. She had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of the Earlys Chapel United Methodist Church and was a former Taylor County Deputy Clerk and a bookkeeper at the Metzmeier Nursing Home in Campbellsville. Shirley enjoyed cooking, baking, traveling, reading and spending time with her family and friends.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband: Bobby Eugene Rucker on December 22, 2021; a son: David Allen Rucker on May 20, 1985; three brothers and a sister: Bobby, Paul and Finley Isaacs and Vala Kilburn.
Survivors include a grandson; Jonathan Nicholas Rucker; a great-grandchild: Braylie Alexandria Rucker; two sisters and a brother: Berniece Booth of Ohio, Virginia Anthe of Covington and Buddy G. Isaacs of Independence and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
In the recent days, Shirley told the family that she was “Prayed up, paid up, and ready to go home”
The funeral service for Shirley A. Rucker will be Wednesday, January 11, 2023 at 1:00 P.M. in the chapel of the L.R. Petty Funeral Home with burial to follow in the Brookside Cemetery.

Family requests visitation on Wednesday January 11, 2023 after 11:00 A.M. until time for the service.
Memorials are suggested to the Hospice Care of St. Elizabeth which can be made at the funeral home.
