Mr. Ronnie Lewis Perkins of the Whitewood community in Campbellsville passed from this life on Friday, January 14, 2022 at the Baptist Health Hardin in Elizabethtown after an illness. Born on December 20, 1940 to the late Robert Jackson “Jack” and Eliza (Penick) Perkins, he was 81 years of age. He had made a profession of faith in Christ and attended Campbellsville First Church of God. Mr. Perkins was a veteran of the United States Army. He spent many years of his life in Texas, and retired there as a tool salesman before returning to his home on Green River.
He leaves to cherish his memory:
Three children: Bryan Allen Perkins and wife Elizabeth of North Carolina, Dana Lee and husband Alan of Texas, and Shondah Cox and husband Tim of Campbellsville,
Two siblings: Jack Allen Perkins and wife Irene, and David Joe Perkins and wife Tresia, all of the Whitewood community,
Six grandchildren: Scott LaRoe, Amy Hopson and husband Chase, Alana Lee, Brandon Perkins, Tanner Perkins, and Jayden Cox,
Four great-grandchildren: Gemma, Charlotte, Lyla, and Belle,
And a host of other family members and friends.
There will be a funeral service to honor the life of Mr. Perkins on Wednesday, January 19, 2022 at 2:00 PM EST (1:00 PM CST) in the chapel of the L.R. Petty Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 1765 New Columbia Rd, Campbellsville, KY. Pastor Evan Tedder will officiate. The Marion County Veterans Honor Guard will conduct full military honors immediately following the service.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday, Jan. 19, after 12:00 PM EST (11:00 AM CST) until time for the service.
Outside of his family, Mr. Perkins had one major love, and that was fishing. To fulfill his wishes, his ashes will be scattered at his family farm on Green River at a later date.
