Mrs. Norma Jean Flinchum, daughter of the late James C. and Edna (Chelf) Cave, passed peacefully from this life on Monday, September 20, 2021 at her home. Born in Taylor County on August 4, 1929, she was 92 years of age. Mrs. Flinchum had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of Southside Christian Church. She was a homemaker, and the widow of Mr. Curt Flinchum, who preceded her in death on August 21, 2009.
She leaves to cherish her memory:
A daughter: Susie Flinchum Hayes of Campbellsville,
Five grandchildren: Beth Hunt, Jeff Hunt and wife Tammy, Jordan Flinchum and wife Amber, Sandy Smothers and husband Mark, and Tim Hayes,
Four great-grandchildren: Taylor Hunt, Alyssa Smothers, Melina Smothers, and Wyatt Smothers,
And a host of extended family and friends.
She was also preceded in death by a son, Lonnie Flinchum, and a son-in-law, Denny Hayes and a great-grandchild: Dalton Levi Hayes.
She was laid to rest in the Harden Cemetery, Hwy 76, Adair County, following a private funeral service. Jeff Hunt, Jordan Flinchum, Mark Smothers, Tim Hayes, Dustin Wethington, and Taylor Hunt served as pallbearers.
