Martha Jean Karnes

Martha Jean Karnes, of Campbellsville, the daughter of the late Edward Lee Hardesty and Virginia Mae Bohannon Hardesty, was born May 1, 1950, in Louisville, KY, and departed this life on Thursday, November 4, 2023, at Jewish Hospital in Louisville. She was 73 years of age.

Martha was a homemaker and loved spending time with her family.

She united in marriage to James Alfred Karnes who precedes her in death.

She is survived by one son and two daughters: James Karnes and his companion Jenni Dagnelli, Margaret Chastain and DeAnna Karnes all of Campbellsville

Four grandchildren: Brittani McFarland, BreAnne Elmore, Hollie Dotson, and Amanda Dotson all of Campbellsville.

Also, seven sisters and two brothers: Joyce Hinckey, Bonnie Metcalf, Betty Davis, James Hardesty, Angie Reimann, Jeanette Esparza, Donna Gorden, Phil Hardesty, and Jackie Reimann.

The funeral service for Martha Jean Karnes will be held at 1:00 P.M. Wednesday, November 8, 2023, in the chapel of the L.R. Petty Funeral Home 1765 New Columbia Road Campbellsville, KY with burial alongside her husband in the Lebanon National Cemetery.

The family has requested visitation from 11:00 A.M. – 1:00 P.M. on Wednesday, November 8, 2023, at the L. R. Petty Funeral Home.
