Juanita Shofner, the daughter of the late Sam Elliot and Etta Myrtle (Price) Allen, was born December 19, 1933 in Marion County, KY and departed this life on Wednesday, October 13, 2021 in Campbellsville at the Taylor Regional Hospital. She was 87 years of age.
She had made a profession of faith in Christ and attended church at the Vineyard in Campbellsville.
She retired from Fruit of the Loom after 40 years.
She united in marriage to James Shofner in 1951. He preceded her in death in 2012.
She is survived by a son: Dylan Joe Shofner and wife Julie of Missouri;
A sister: Minnie Hancock of Lebanon;
Two grandchildren: Aaron Joseph Shofner and Alayna Marie Shofner;
A niece she raised as a daughter: Debra Chandler and husband Kelly, and their children: Austin, Jacklyn, and Mason;
A niece and cherished caregiver: Jane Milby;
And a host of other nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives and friends.
Besides her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by nine brothers and sisters: Roxey Allen, Rachel Sprowles, William Allen, Emma Lee Warner Sallee, John Allen, Oddry Allen, Ethel Puyear, Mary K. Hourigan, and Sadie Mable Allen.
The funeral service for Juanita Shofner will be Sunday, October 17, 2021 at 2:00 P.M. at the L.R. Petty Funeral Home with burial to follow in the Brookside Cemetery.
Family requests visitation after 12 Noon on Sunday at the funeral home.
