Mr. Johnnie Allen Cox of Elk Horn passed from this life on May 14, 2020 in Bowling Green after an extended illness. Born to the late Ovlin Joe and Annelle (Bault) Cox on September 2, 1971, he was 48 years, 8 months, and 12 days of age. Mr. Cox had made a profession of faith in Christ and was of the Baptist faith. His honest, quiet, and unassuming demeanor belied a strength rarely seen, and served him well during the long days he spent working in the log woods. Riding his Harley, hunting, and fishing were some of his favorite pastimes, yet above that was time spent with his children and grandchildren. “Popeye”, as he was affectionately called, possessed a vast knowledge of all things outdoors, and he loved to share it with them.
He leaves to cherish his memory:
Two children: Johnathan Cox and wife Morgan of Bradfordsville, and Tiffany Cox of Campbellsville,
Two grandchildren: Joey Cox and Jessi Cox,
Three siblings: Jerry Cox and wife Paulette of Campbellsville, Billy Cox and wife Brenda of Florida, and Sheila Malone and husband Roger of Campbellsville,
And a host of other family and friends.
He was also preceded in death by an infant brother, Douglas Wayne Cox.
Mr. Cox will be laid to rest in the Jones Chapel Cemetery.
Bro. Raymond Atwood and Bro. Michael Woodrum will be officiating.
