Joel Mayes Harris, the son of Joel “Joe” Harris of Campbellsville and the late Margaret (Montgomery) Harris was born June 3, 1963 in Taylor County, KY and departed this life on Tuesday, August 18, 2020 in Louisville at the Norton Hospital. He was 57 years of age.
He had made a profession of faith in Christ and was of the Presbyterian Faith.
Joel was a former employee of Cox Interiors and was the caretaker of Bethel Cemetery.
He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, woodworking, movies, cooking and animals. He always found time to work on cars and tear something up just so he could fix it and told jokes while working.
Besides his father, he is survived by a son: Jacob Harris and wife Bridget of Campbellsville; a daughter: Lindsey Hash and companion Blake Caldwell of Greensburg; a brother: Albert Harris of Campbellsville; two sisters: Teresa West and husband Gary of Wyoming and Nona Gribbins and husband Greg of Campbellsville; eight grandchildren: Drayden and Rhyan Hash, Bryson Gabehart, Eliyas Caldwell, Jesslynne and Haley Mann, Abigail Powell and Ridley Harris; two aunts: Ruth Ann Cowherd and Doris Franklin; nieces and nephews: Sara Wyatt, BJ Harris, Jackson Harris, Jonathan West, Benjamin West and Amanda West and a host of other relatives and friends.
The family chose cremation and a memorial service will be held in the near future.
