Mrs. Jeanne Marie (Chiantelli) Walters of the Levelwoods community passed from this life on January 21, 2024 at the Baptist Health Hardin Hospital following an extended illness. Born on June 15, 1947 in San Francisco, California to the late George John and Lena Marie (DeMattei) Chiantelli, she was 76 years, 7 months, and 6 days of age. She retired from Walmart as a CSM. Mrs. Walters enjoyed knitting and her baked goodies were always a family favorite. As a matriarch, her love, pride, and joy only grew with each new generation, and fond memories of her care and compassion will be held for years.
She leaves to carry her legacy:
Three children: Marjorie Lee Sabino and husband Eric of Hodgenville, Cherie Marie Altman and husband Timothy of Campbellsville, and Thomas M. Walters and wife Kristen of Campbellsville,
A brother: Alfred G. Chiantelli and wife Carol of San Francisco, CA,
Honorary sisters: Karen Raccanello, Fran Walters, Chris Smits, and Judy Altman,
Two cousins: Mike Cardella, and her dear cousin, Barbara Wittren,
And a host of other relatives and friends - all loved by her, yet too numerous to mention.
Mrs. Walters was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Thomas E. Walters.
There will be a funeral service to honor the life of Mrs. Walters on Friday, January 26, 2024 at 1:00 PM in the chapel of the L.R. Petty Funeral Home, 1765 New Columbia Rd, Campbellsville, KY. Bro. Jimmy Harkness will officiate.
The family will receive visitors at the funeral home on Friday, January 26, from 10:00 AM until time for the service.
Due to the inclement weather and cemetery conditions, Mrs. Walters will be laid to rest beside her husband following a private committal service in the Flying W Cemetery in Larue County. Immediate family only will attend.
In lieu of flowers, please consider memorials in the form of donations to Hosparus of Green River. Those can be made in person at the funeral home, or online through the “Donations” tab above.
