Mr. Jay Stuart Mercer, son of Wayne and Delores Brawner, was born in Springfield, Illinois on October 9, 1968. He departed this life on Saturday, July 17, 2021 at his home in Campbellsville, being 52 years, 9 months, and 8 days of age. He had made a profession of faith in Christ and was of the Christian faith. Mr. Mercer was a former sanitation engineer, being employed by the City of Campbellsville and Waste Connections. He had a quick-thinking mind; he especially enjoyed inserting bits of trivia into conversations, both in-person and over text. A talented pool player, he also enjoyed time spent with his children doing yardwork.

Three children: Ford Mercer and Zuri Mercer, both of Campbellsville, and Noah Mercer of Arizona,
Two brothers: Joe Ray Schmidt of Illinois, and Bill Mercer of Arizona,
His mother-in-law: Brenda Graham of Edmonton,
Two sisters-in-law: Tiffany Ferguson and husband Lancer, and Carla Kampf and husband Michael, all of Glasgow,
Three brothers-in-law: Michael Graham and wife Royce of Arizona, and Kevin Graham and wife Tammy, and Kelly Graham, all of Oklahoma,
And a host of other family members and friends.
The family chose cremation. All services were performed privately.
