Mr. James O’Neal “Pill” Cox of Elk Horn was born on April 9, 1952 to the late Willard Cox and Hallie (Rash) Ratcliff. He departed this life on Friday, February 21, 2020 in Louisville at the Norton Hosparus Care Center, being 67 years, 10 months, and 11 days of age. Although disabled most of his life, he enjoyed tinkering around in scrapyards and looking for a bargain.
He leaves to mourn his passing:
Four children: Jammie Ann Wheeler of Campbellsville, James Cox, Jr. and wife Traci of Campbellsville, Shane Cox and wife Melissa of Marion County, and April Cox of Campbellsville,
A former spouse and mother of his children: Jackie Gunn of Campbellsville,
Two siblings: Bobby Cox and wife Evelyn of Campbellsville, and Paul Cox and wife Cedell of Louisville,
Two half siblings: Junior Ratcliff of Greensburg, and James Cox and wife Amanda of Nancy,
Fourteen grandchildren,
Three great-grandchildren,
A special friend: Sandy Mays of Illinois,
And a host of other friends and family.
He was also preceded in death by a brother and sister: Don Cox and Gay Reed.
There will be a funeral service to honor the life of Mr. Cox on Monday, February 24, 2020 at 7:00 PM in the chapel of the L.R. Petty Funeral Home. Cremation rites will be accorded him after the service. Bro. Roger Bland will be officiating.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday, Feb 24, after 5:00 PM until time for the service.
