James Alford Obituary

James Lewis Alford, of Campbellsville, the son of the late Charles Raymond Alford, was born June 10, 1943, in Louisville, KY, and departed this life on Sunday, February 4, 2024, at the University Of Louisville - Jewish Hospital. He was 80 years of age.

He professed faith in Christ and was a member of Friendship Baptist Church, and was a retired Police Officer for the City of Campbellsville, and spent several years as a School Resource Officer. He was also a retired gunsmith and a former employee of Campbellsville Industries where he worked setting church steeples. He was also a member of the Masonic Lodge.

Survivors include two children: Kristin Bolin and her husband James, and James Alford, Jr. all of Campbellsville. Two grandchildren: Mary Catherine Bolin and Cheyenne Autumn Bolin, one great–granddaughter: Cordelia Reese Bolin, one sister-in-law: Nancy Alford of Texas, and one niece: Stacia Boggs and husband Mike of Texas.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife: Linda Lou Kettles Alford, a brother: Charles Lee Alford, and a nephew: Matthew Alford.

The family chose cremation and a memorial service will be held by the family at a later date.
