Mr. Dennis Lee “Denny” Hayes of Campbellsville, son of the late Kenneth and Lucille (Adams) Hayes, was born in Marion County on October 30, 1947. He departed this life on Saturday, March 21, 2020 at the Taylor Regional Hospital, being 72 years, 4 months, and 21 days of age. He had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of Freedom Baptist Church. Mr. Hayes was a retired farmer, and enjoyed spending his time with his family. He loved to read his Bible and serve God and his church, and was a talented and well-respected bird dog trainer.
He leaves to cherish his memory:
His wife: Mrs. Susie Diane (Flinchum) Hayes,
Four children: Tammy Hayes and companion Brian Benningfield of Campbellsville, Steve Hayes and wife Jill of Lebanon, Tim Hayes of Campbellsville, and Sandy Smothers and husband Mark of Campbellsville,
Two stepchildren: Beth Hunt and Jeff Hunt and wife Tammy, all of Campbellsville,
Two brothers: Rodney Hayes and wife Linda, and Wayne Hayes and wife Karen, all of Lebanon,
Thirteen grandchildren,
One step grandchild,
Seven great-grandchildren,
And a host of other family and friends.
He was also preceded in death by a grandson, Dalton Levi Hayes, and a brother, Robert Hayes.
Mr. Hayes will be laid to rest in the Brookside Cemetery.
Due to efforts to combat the spread of COVID-19 and recent requirements implemented by the Office of Governor Andy Beshear and the Kentucky Board of Embalmers and Funeral Directors, all funeral services will be performed privately.
