Della Dorine (Gribbins) McCowan

   Mrs. Dorine McCowan of Danville, daughter of the late Arvin and Leoda (Garrett) Gribbins, passed from this life on June 14, 2021 at the Ephriam McDowell Regional Medical Center after an extended illness. Born in Marion County on April 27, 1952, she was 69 years, 1 month, and 18 days of age. She had made a profession of faith in Christ and was of the Baptist faith. Although a quiet and private lady, Mrs. McCowan was a genuine homemaker at heart. She especially enjoyed quality family time; cooking for and feeding her family was a favorite pursuit of hers.

She leaves to cherish her memory:

   Her husband: Charles E. McCowan of Danville,

   Two children: Larry Puyear and wife Carrie of Lexington, and Rhonda Bright and husband Larry of Campbellsville,

   A former spouse and father of her children: Claude Puyear,

   A stepdaughter: Tina McCowan of Danville,

   Three siblings: Sonny Gribbins and wife Bonnie of Mt. Zion, Debbie Humphress and husband Chat of Campbellsville, and Nevelda Gribbins of Lebanon,

   Three grandchildren: Timothy Lanham, Jordan Summers, and Austin Summers,

   Eight great-grandchildren,

   And a host of other family and friends.

   She was also preceded in death by three brothers: Martin Gribbins, Clayton Gribbins, and Michael Gribbins.

   There will be a funeral service to honor the life of Mrs. McCowan on Thursday, June 17, 2021 at 5:30 PM in the chapel of the L.R. Petty Funeral Home, 1765 New Columbia Rd, Campbellsville, KY. Cremation will be accorded her following the service.

   The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday, June 17, from 2:30 PM until time for the service.
