Mrs. Deborah Cox Davis of Elk Horn, daughter of Betty Jo (Parker) and the late Kenneth M. Cox, was born on August 17, 1958 in Campbellsville. She was 63 years, 2 months, and 14 days of age when she passed from this life on Sunday, October 31, 2021. On June 28, 1975, she united in marriage to Mr. Jerry Wayne Davis; they remained a devoted couple until his death on December 19, 2012. Mrs. Davis earned a degree from Lindsey Wilson College and worked in the accounts payable departments of Fruit of the Loom and Cox Built Homes. She was a cherished mother and grandmother, and a dear friend to many.
She leaves to mourn her passing:
Two sons: Christopher Wayne Davis and wife Leslie of Campbellsville, and Joseph Parker Davis and wife Aubrey of Elk Horn,
Her mother: Betty Cox of Campbellsville,
Four grandchildren: Parker Kate Davis, Pace McCall Davis, Paxton Bentley Davis, and Beau Parker Davis,
Four brothers-in-law: Ricky Barnes, Roger Hovious, Johnny Davis, and Danny Grant and wife Julia,
A nephew: Tyler Richard Barnes,
And a host of extended family and friends.
She was also preceded in death by a sister, Libby Gail Barnes.
There will be a funeral service to honor the life of Mrs. Davis on Thursday, November 4, 2021 at 1:00 PM in the chapel of the L.R. Petty Funeral Home, 1765 New Columbia Rd, Campbellsville, KY. She will be laid to rest beside her husband in the Chappel Cemetery, Hwy 76, Adair County.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday, Nov. 4, from 10:00 AM until tie for the service.
