Charles Edward “Charlie” Cox, of Campbellsville, the son of the late Albert and Lola (Dennis) Cox, was born July 11, 1939 in Taylorsville, KY and departed this life on Monday, November 15, 2021 at his home. He was 82 years of age.
He was a retired employee of General Electric, a farmer and was of the Baptist Faith.
He was a Veteran, having served in the United States Army.
Charlie, as he was mostly known by, enjoyed fishing, hunting, listening to bluegrass music and old country music and tending to his farm and farm animals such as his cows, sheep and rabbits and for over 30 years he loved tinkering with small engines.
Besides his parents, he was preceded by four brothers: Bob, Jim, Jack and Tommy Cox and a sister: Jean Hall.
Charlie is survived by his wife: Peggy (Gribbins) Cox; a daughter: Deanna (Cox) Smith and husband Johnny; two grandchildren: Jayda and Colton Smith and a host of other relatives and friends.
The funeral service for Charles Edward “Charlie” Cox will be Wednesday, November 17, 2021 at 1:00 P.M. in the chapel of the L.R. Petty Funeral Home with burial to follow in the St. Bernard Cemetery at Clementsville.
Bro. Tim Coghill will be officiating.
Family requests visitation after 11:00 A.M. on Wednesday until time for service.
FULL MILITARY RITES WILL BE CONDUCTED AT APPROX. 11:30 A.M. IN THE PARKING LOT OF THE FUNERAL HOME BY THE MARION COUNTY VETERANS HONOR GUARD.
