Cecil David “Smiley” Salyers, of Mannsville, the son of the late Cecil and Edith (Davis) Salyers, was born November 10, 1952 in Casey County, KY and departed this life on Monday, May 11, 2020. He was 67 years of age.
He was a member of the Hill & Valley Saddle Club, loved motorcycles and old trucks and cars and formed the Toys for Tots program.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister: Debbie Salsbury.
Survivors include his wife: Ruth (Skean) Salyers of Mannsville; two sons: David Salyers, Jr and wife Bobbie Jo of Campbellsville and Dereck Salyers and companion Courtney Reliford of Elk Horn; a daughter: Tosha Marie Salyers-Miller of Elk Horn.
Also are surviving are six brothers and sisters: Diane Salyers and Vicky Byrd of Mannsville, Ricky Salyers and wife Brenda and Timmy Salyers, of Liberty, Daril Salyers and wife Frances of Roley and Jerome Salyers and wife Kim of Liberty; nine grandchildren: Blake, Jessica, Colin, Isiah, Dylan, Cecilia, Jewels, Emily and Chesney; 3 great-grandchildren; special friends: Georgetta Elam, James Skean and Mary Ann Sanders and a host of other relatives and friends.
Due to efforts to combat the spread of COVID-19 and recent requirements implemented by the Office of Governor Andy Beshear and the Kentucky Board of Embalmers and Funeral Directors, all funeral services will be performed privately.
