Mr. William Edward “Ed” Hunt of Campbellsville passed peacefully from this life on Saturday, December 22, 2018 at his home. Born in Taylor County on December 26, 1928 to the late Milburn and Annie (Arvin) Hunt, he was 89 years, 11 months, and 26 days. He was a retired life insurance broker, and a former employee of the Fruit of the Loom plant and Kentucky Cooperage. He was the beloved husband of Mrs. Geneva (Pierce) Hunt almost 67 years until her passing in 2017. Mr. Hunt had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of Mt. Carmel Baptist Church. He enjoyed collecting cans, and was a lifelong farmer. His home-grown sweet potatoes and watermelons were always top-notch, and a bountiful garden seemed to always be in his kitchen.
He leaves to cherish his memory:
Two children: Phyllis Sallee and husband Eddie, and David Hunt and special friend Kaye Hunt and her children, all of Campbellsville,
One sister: Gertrude Sprowles husband Winfrey of Campbellsville,
Two grandchildren: Samantha Arnold and husband Chad, and Andrea Clark and husband Jeremy,
Four great-grandchildren: Avery Arnold, Maddox Smith, Kinley Smith, and Caroline Smith,
And a host of other family and friends.
He was also preceded in death by four siblings: Betty, Madeline, Kenneth, and Dale.
Mr. Hunt chose to be cremated. A memorial service to honor his life will be conducted on Wednesday, December 26, 2018 at 5:30 PM in the chapel of the L.R. Petty Funeral Home, 1765 New Columbia Rd, Campbellsville, KY. Bro. Freddy Thompson will be officiating.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday from 4:30 until time for the service.
