Mrs. Rose Marie Pogue of Campbellsville entered into rest on Tuesday, March 7, 2017 at the Grandview Nursing and Rehab Center after an extended illness. Born on June 26, 1918 in Columbia to the late Aaron Hardin and Ellen (Tedder) Light, she was 98 years, 8 months, and 11 days of age. She professed faith in Christ and was of the Church of God faith. She was a homemaker and wife of Lee Pogue, and they shared 73 years of marriage before his death in 2015. When she wasn’t working in her garden or growing flowers, she enjoyed crafting and reading poetry and the Bible.

She leaves to carry her legacy:

   Three children: James Edwin Pogue and wife Joyce of Campbellsville, Lana Fay McDonald of Mt. Washington, and Jane Coomer and husband Wayne of Campbellsville,

   Eleven grandchildren: Teresa Peterson, Patty Dadisman, Wendy McCorkle, Angie Miller, Jeffrey Pogue, Mark McDonald, Sherry McDonald, Tina Wilder, Brian McDonald, Barry McDonald, and Greg McDonald,

   Twenty-two great-grandchildren,

   Thirty-three great-great grandchildren,

   And a host of other family and friends.

   She was also preceded in death by six siblings: Herbert Light, Edward Light, Wesley Light, Dolly Beckner, Blanche Stapleton, and Lois Edna Miller.

   There will be a funeral service to honor the life of Mrs. Pogue on Thursday, March 9, 2017 at 1:00 PM EST in the chapel of the L.R. Petty Funeral Home, 1765 New Columbia Rd, Campbellsville, KY. Bro. Todd Davis will be officiating. Mrs. Pogue will be laid to rest beside her husband in the Caldwell Chapel Cemetery, Hwy 1104, Adair County, KY.

   The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday, March 8, from 5:00-8:00 PM EST.
