Dear friend

I was in shock when I got the news of your sudden passing. Although we have not spoke for a couple years, I have never forgotten the long conversations we had and the encouragement you were to me. I appreciate all the hours of talks we had. I know you loved the Lord and He was a part of your life that no one could take from you. Although it is hard to know you are gone from this Earth, it is a blessing to know you have made it home and will suffer no more. You are at peace now and for eternity. RIP my friend, until we meet again.

I miss you ol boy but I cherish the time growing up together and the close relationship we always had. Our dads were twins and they died so soon also. I really enjoyed talking with you on the cell while you were working or I was driving home from Hinesville, GA. The best part I remember is talking about God/Jesus and your church. I am so THANKFUL and that makes this time much easier. I wish we would have pictures together!! I never dreamed of preaching your funeral but hopefully I will have some words of encouragement. RIP I LOVE YOU I hope you always new that!

To the Ford family and friends. At a time like this, words are hard to find and emotions run high. It is comforting to know that Jesus knows how we feel and knows what to say and do to comfort us. When on earth, Jesus experienced the death of his friend Lazarus. The Bible says at John 11:35 that Jesus gave way to tears because his heart was touched by the ‘pain’ of others. Jesus, being the exact representation of his Father, proved that he and his Father have the desire to undo the pain of sickness and death. Jesus stated at John 5:28,29, that “the hour is coming in which ‘all’ those in the memorial tombs, or grave, will come out.” That includes Roger. He comforts us by letting us know that in the very near future, we will be reunited with our loved ones who have passed away right here on earth, the home they are familiar with. (Revelation 21:4) May these promises bring you comfort as you reminisce on the good times you had with Roger.
