James "Jimmy" Howard Morris

   Mr. James Howard “Jimmy” Morris of Campbellsville, son of Ruby (Smith) Morris and the late Charles William Morris, passed peacefully from this life on Saturday, October 13, 2018 at his home. Born on February 22, 1953, he was 65 years, 7 months, and 21 days of age. He had made a profession of faith in Christ and was of the Baptist faith. He was a veteran, having served his country honorably in the Army National Guard. He was an honest man with honorable intentions, and enjoyed tinkering around with old cars and tractors, and was an avid NASCAR fan. He remained an Earnhardt fan until the end.

He leaves to mourn his passing:

   His wife: Carolyn (Murphy) Morris

   His mother: Ruby Morris of Bowling Green,

   Two sons: Jason Morris and wife Shannon of Campbellsville, and Jonathan Morris and wife Jill of Tampa, Florida,

   One step-son: J.J. Marcum and wife Jackie of Campbellsville,

   A brother: William “Woody” Morris and wife Sherry of Bowling Green,

   Two grandchildren and three step-grandchildren: Haley Morris, Dalton Morris, Lexi Marcum, Shawn Larger, and Darrin Larger,

   A special friend and caretaker: Mary Ann Thomas,

   And a host of other family and close friends.

   There will be a funeral service to honor the life of Mr. Morris on Tuesday, October 16, 2018 at 11:00 AM in the chapel of the L.R. Petty Funeral Home, 1765 New Columbia Rd, Campbellsville, KY. Bro. Robert Layne and Bro. Billy Perkins will be officiating. Entombment will follow in the Campbellsville Memorial Gardens Mausoleum, 3878 Greensburg Rd, Campbellsville, KY. Full military honors will be conducted by the Marion County Veterans Honor Guard.

    The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday, Oct 15, from 5:00-8:00 PM.
