Mr. Charles David Buchanan of Willisburg was born on November 20, 1925 in Charlestown, Indiana to the late Frank David and Isaline (Raab) Buchanan. He departed this life on Thursday, October 27, 2016 at the Springfield Nursing and Rehab Center, being 90 years, 11 months, and 7 days of age. Mr. Buchanan professed faith in Christ and was a member of the Anchor of Hope Church in Willisburg. He was a retired meat inspector and a farmer.

He leaves to cherish his memory:

   His wife: Essie Buchanan of Willisburg,

   Two stepchildren: Richard David Chesser and wife Marvis, and Angie Young, all of Willisburg,

   One brother and one sister: Henry Buchanan and wife Charlotte of Charlestown, IN, and Mary Buchanan Clark of Chicago, IL,

   Four step-grandchildren: Regina Spaulding and husband Jason, Derrick Young, Brent Young, and Dylan Mattingly, all of Willisburg,

   Two step great-grandchildren: Ty Mattingly and Zack Spaulding,

   A close cousin: Ernie Raab and wife Marge of Borden, IN,

   And a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

   He was also preceded in death by a stepson, Tony Chesser, and two sisters, Virgil Kennard and Inez Roederer.

   There will be a funeral service to honor the life of Mr. Buchanan on Monday, October 31, 2016 at 1:00 PM EST at the Anchor of Hope Church in Willisburg. Rev. Cathy Cheatham and Rev. Ricky Cheatham will be officiating. Burial will follow in the Evergreen Cemetery Willisburg.

   The family will receive friends at the church on Sunday, October 30, after 4:00 PM EST, and on Monday, October 31, after 9:00 AM EST.
