Roy FineganJune 20, 1963 ~ December 7, 2017 (age 54)
Mr. Roy "Norm" Finegan of Cane Valley was born to Ursula (Kruger) Finegan and the late Raybel George Finegan. He departed this life on Thursday, December 7, 2017 at the VA Medical Center in Lexington being 54 years, 5 months, and 17 days of age. He professed faith in Christ and was of the Baptist faith. Mr. Finegan was a veteran and served his country honorably in the United States Navy. He was a retired contractor for the city of Tacoma, Washington, where he worked as a street sweeper. He enjoyed nature and being outdoors; his knowledge of astronomy was paralleled only by his enthusiasm for thunderstorms. He loved spending time at the beach with Shelley Thomas, his closest friend and companion, and brightened others’ days with a funny joke or a donut or two.
He leaves to cherish his memory:
One son: Ryan Finegan of Washington,
His best friend: Shelley Thomas of Washington,
Five siblings: Jimmy Ray Finegan and wife Cindy of Washington, Robert Lee Finegan and wife Shawna of Tennessee, Bilinda Lines and husband Jimmy of Columbia, Angelica Ann Melton and husband Shane of Georgia, and Regina Eleanora Harshaw and husband Chris of Tennessee,
And a host of extended family and friends.
At the request of the family, cremation rites were accorded him by the L.R. Petty Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Campbellsville. There will be a Celebration of Life service to honor Mr. Finegan on Saturday, December 16, 2017 at 12:00 noon at his home in Cane Valley. All of his friends and family are encouraged to attend.
